Haunted Hearse Season 1

When fiber artist Jane Tardo explores Halloween, they don’t conjure images of chainsaw massacres and aggressive, physical fear invoking horror. Their spooky, delightful, and surreal experience surprises audiences on first look, but induces supernatural, psychological chills on closer inspection.

This immersive, role reversal, rollercoaster ride for cell phones is a haunted house attraction like no other…

Built inside of a retired and “haunted for the spooky season” 1992 Cadillac hearse, this 3 minute, 2-story, 45 foot Knex rollercoaster has been modified to ferry cell phones through an eerie sensory experience of art and technology.

Musical composition provided by Morgan Orion and the Cosmic Zombies tells the story of ecological collapse, and the chilling hellscape of our future. The point of view POV is taken out of your hands, and your cellphone (in video mode) gets to go for a ride of terror. Luring you into the magic are 2 selfie stations where the POV leaves the hearse and allows spectators to scare the phone as it passes by, becoming ghoulish monsters in the video!

Is your phone brave enough to ride? Come find out…

Tardo’s “The Haunted Hearse Rollercoaster Ride” can be seen lurking the streets of New Orleans and the Gulf Coast at your favorite bars, shows, festivals, art markets, and art galleries.

No flashing lights, smoke, or jump scares. Safe for kids and families!!!
